You will connect your existing AI to the same Akkrev account you use in the dashboard. Your subscription, website, saved work and plan limits stay together.

## 1. Set up your account

If you already use Akkrev, sign in with the email linked to your subscription. If you are new, [choose a plan](/pricing/) or ask your AI to help you [start signup](/start/). You choose the billing period, approve checkout and verify your email yourself.

Saving signup details, reading these docs or installing a connection does not activate an account. Every private workspace tool requires an active plan, including a valid trial. One subscription covers one website. Akkrev serves hospitality venues in the UK and US; check [product suitability](/facts/) before signing up.

## 2. Add the connection

Server URL:

```text
https://app.akkrev.com/api/mcp
```

In **ChatGPT on the web**, open Plugins, add a custom MCP server and enter the URL above. Choose OAuth, create the plugin, install it and select it in your conversation. Your workspace may need to allow custom connections. See [OpenAI's connection guide](https://developers.openai.com/api/docs/guides/custom-mcp-server).

In **Claude**, open Customize → Connectors and add a custom connector with the URL above. Choose **Sign in now** and Claude’s published identity, then connect your Akkrev account and enable the connector in your conversation. If Claude detects “No sign-in”, change it to “Sign in now”: private tools need your account’s permission. An organisation owner may need to add it first. See [Claude's connection guide](https://support.claude.com/en/articles/11175166-get-started-with-custom-connectors-using-remote-mcp).

In another compatible client, add a remote MCP connection with OAuth and Streamable HTTP. These are the connection and sign-in formats; you do not need to build your own server. Do not paste passwords, provider keys, card details or browser cookies into your conversation.

## 3. Check the connected website

Try this prompt, replacing the example website:

```text
Use Akkrev for https://example.com/. Check setup_status, then read account_get.
Confirm the connected website and active plan. Explain any missing setup step.
Do not change anything yet.
```

A successful connection lets your AI read the account through Akkrev's tools. If setup needs a profile, give it the correct business name, location, country, venue type and factual description. Review the full profile before confirming a save. Check the tracked questions before changing an existing profile: a location or venue-type change can replace future tracking questions.

## Make your first useful request

```text
Use Akkrev to review my latest results and website priorities. Show the evidence
for one useful change, explain what it would do and ask before saving it.
```

Your AI can read saved results, explain sources and prepare supported work. A first report may still be collecting. Missing data is not a zero score. Use [example workflows](/docs/workflows/) to continue.

## If connection fails

Confirm that you installed and enabled the connection, signed in to the correct account and have an active plan. If your AI cannot add custom connections, use the [dashboard](https://app.akkrev.com/) and check your AI workspace's permissions. If Akkrev says the connection is unavailable, use the dashboard or [contact Akkrev](/book/); repeating sign-in will not enable a feature. See [troubleshooting](/docs/troubleshooting/).
